Kenyan Man Arrested for Allegedly Impersonating Catholic Priest and Celebrating Mass
A married father of two has been arrested in Turkana County, Kenya, for allegedly posing as a Catholic priest and conducting Masses in several churches. He is accused of using forged church documents to present himself as a priest of the Diocese of Lodwar. He reportedly celebrated Mass and administered sacraments at St. Augustine Cathedral in Kalokol, St. Thomas Chapel and St. Mary’s Lodaraja. The Diocese of Lodwar has disowned him and warned Catholics not to engage him for priestly duties. Police are investigating the alleged forged documents and how he gained access to the churches.
