Wife Seeks Answers as Globacom Worker Remains Missing 16 Months After Alleged Imo Abduction
Mrs. Fumi Adetona is appealing for help to locate her husband, Olaoluwa Adetona, a Globacom rollout manager who she says was abducted in Imo State on May 6, 2025. She said he was on a site-acquisition assignment with two expatriates when they were allegedly kidnapped. According to her, the expatriates were later released, but her husband has not returned. Fumi alleges that the family was not promptly informed and has received no clear explanation despite meetings with company officials, police intervention and letters from lawyers. She says the family was told ransom had been paid, but Olaoluwa was not released. Rejecting claims that he may have died, she urged security agencies, the Federal Government, Globacom and the public to help establish his whereabouts. “There is no proof that he is dead. They should produce my husband,” she said.
