Rivers Police Arrest Man Over Alleged Online-Lured Kidnapping and Rape
The Rivers State Police Command has arrested 24-year-old Otamiri Prince in connection with the alleged kidnapping and rape of a 24-year-old woman. According to the victim’s statement, she was lured to Igwuruta on January 3 by a man she met online. She says accomplices then took her to a bush in Ulakwo, Etche LGA, where she was assaulted, robbed, and later released. Police used technology-driven tactics to track and apprehend Otamiri Prince, who has confessed to the crime. Recovered items include the victim’s iPhone, a wig, and other valuables. Investigations continue as officers search for other suspects. The Commissioner of Police urges anyone seeking online opportunities to verify identities, meet in public spots, inform loved ones of their movements, and report any suspicion or emergency immediately.
