LASCOCO Matriculates 183 Students as Council Chair Urges Freshers to Seize Opportunities
The Lagos State Cooperative College (LASCOCO) matriculated 183 students for the 2025/2026 session. The Governing Council Chairman, Mr. Oyebowale Raji, urged the new students to embrace the many learning opportunities and see themselves as future leaders of the cooperative movement. He outlined a renewed vision for LASCOCO. The College is strengthening academic and professional programmes, expanding entrepreneurship and innovation training, building international partnerships, and deepening research and policy engagement in cooperatives and MSME development. He emphasized discipline, integrity, cooperation, and service, and thanked parents for their support. The Provost, Dr. Walid Gbadebo Adebosin, said cooperative education drives inclusive growth and aligns with Lagos State’s THEMES Plus Agenda. He highlighted the National Diploma, Professional Diploma, and Skill Acquisition programmes designed to produce job creators, innovators, and community builders. He also showcased the Technical Skill-Up Programme launched in 2025. Trainees gain practical skills in electrical installation, welding and fabrication, and plumbing and pipefitting. The first cohort is proceeding to industrial attachment and City & Guilds certification. The second cohort, which began in January 2026, has started training and visited the Henry Karll Technical Training Centre in Badagry.
