Nigerian-Born Lola Ogunbote Appointed Chelsea Women’s Head of Football Operations
Nigerian-born football executive Lola Ogunbote has joined Chelsea Women as Head of Football Operations and Player Services after nearly five years at Burnley. At Burnley, she served as the club’s first Head of Women’s Football. She oversaw recruitment, player development, performance structures and the growth of the women’s programme. Her time there ended with Burnley Women winning the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division and securing promotion. At Chelsea, Ogunbote will support the team’s operational planning, including pre-season arrangements and logistics for Women’s Super League and Champions League matches. She has also supported girls’ football and leadership opportunities in Africa, including a 2026 programme in Surulere, Lagos, that reached 300 students from 10 schools.
