Lagos to Deliver 14,000 Affordable Homes by End of 2026
The Lagos State Government has announced plans to complete more than 14,000 housing units across the state before the end of 2026. This initiative aims to reduce a housing deficit of over 3.3 million units and expand access to affordable homes for residents. So far, 10,623 homes have been delivered in the past seven years. Five major schemes under direct funding are nearing completion, including Egan-Igando Mixed Housing (576 units), Sangotedo Phase II (528 units), Epe Housing Scheme (112 units), Ibeshe Phase II (192 units) and Workers’ Village Ipaja (176 units). In addition to these projects, the government is pursuing joint-venture developments in strategic locations. The ongoing work is expected to ease accommodation pressure, create jobs for artisans and suppliers, and boost economic activity across Lagos.
