One person has died after a two-storey building being manually demolished partially collapsed in the Aboru area of Lagos State early on September 10. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency said it received a distress call at about 12:45 a.m. and deployed its Alpha Eagle Response Team from Cappa, Oshodi. Preliminary findings indicate that workers were trapped when the structure gave way during demolition. Two adult men were rescued alive and given first aid by ambulance personnel before being taken to a nearby hospital. Another adult male was recovered dead from the rubble. Emergency agencies, security personnel and community leaders are continuing operations at the scene to ensure safe access and conclude the rescue effort.
