Sen. Philip Aduda Defects to APC, Visits Party Secretariat Hours After Leaving PDP
Barely hours after resigning from the Peoples Democratic Party, former FCT senator Philip Aduda arrived at the APC national secretariat in Abuja. He spent two hours in a closed-door meeting with APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda. Addressing journalists afterward, Aduda said his decision was driven by his commitment to national development and progressive politics. He highlighted his past support for President Tinubu in the 2023 elections and praised the APC’s performance in the recent FCT Area Council polls. Looking ahead, the former senator expressed confidence that the APC will build on its gains in the North Central region and secure victory in the 2027 general elections. He commended the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda and ongoing economic reforms. In his resignation letter to the PDP, Aduda cited an unresolved internal crisis. He thanked the party for opportunities to serve but said it was time to join forces with the ruling party for greater impact.
