Osun Police, NCCSALW Strengthen Collaboration Against Illegal Firearms
The Osun State Police Command and the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons have held talks on reducing the spread of illegal firearms in the state. The meeting in Osogbo focused on intelligence sharing, community engagement, public sensitisation and coordinated operations to identify and recover illicit weapons from non-state actors. Police Commissioner Ibrahim Zungura urged residents with illegal firearms to surrender them to the authorities. The command said it would continue intelligence-led policing and partnerships to curb armed robbery, kidnapping, cult clashes and communal violence.
