FIFA Orders Katsina United to Pay Ex-Coach Tony Bulus ₦28m or Face Transfer Ban
FIFA has directed Katsina United to pay former head coach Tony Tope Bulus ₦28 million over the wrongful termination of his contract. Bulus was appointed on a two-year deal in August 2023 but was dismissed before the contract ended. The Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled in his favour on June 30, 2026. According to a letter relayed by the Nigeria Football Federation, Katsina United has 15 days to pay Bulus and submit proof of payment to FIFA. The club must also pay a $5,000 fine for failing to comply with the earlier decision. FIFA warned that Katsina United will be barred from registering new players until the outstanding amount is fully paid.
