Suspected Bandit Leader Wakiyu Reportedly Killed in Katsina Operation

A suspected bandit leader, Wakiyu, was reportedly killed during a joint security operation in Damari, Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State. The operation reportedly involved Nigerian Army troops, police officers and members of the Katsina Community Watch Corps. Wakiyu was said to be linked to the criminal network led by Kachalla Maha, which has been blamed for attacks in parts of the state. The reported killing follows ongoing operations by the Army’s 17 Brigade and other security agencies against armed groups in Katsina. Authorities have not yet issued an official confirmation or provided details of the encounter.
