Jo Bonfrere Arrives in Ebonyi for Private Visit and Country Home Opening

Former Nigeria U-23 coach Jo Bonfrere has arrived in Ebonyi State on a private visit. The Dutchman is expected to attend the opening of Chief Solomon Agueze Ejeh’s country home in Abakaliki on 10 October. Bonfrere led Nigeria’s U-23 team to Olympic gold at the 1996 Atlanta Games. He said he had already seen the property and described it as an impressive structure. The visit is one of several returns to Nigeria by the 80-year-old since his time with the national team. His previous trips included appearances connected to football events and the presentation of a housing reward linked to Nigeria’s 1996 Olympic triumph.
