Anambra Government Intervenes After Brutal Abuse of 10-Year-Old Boy in Awada

The Anambra government says a 10-year-old boy who suffered severe burns and other injuries at the hands of his guardians in Awada, Obosi is now under state protection and receiving medical care. Officials from the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare visited the child in hospital. They praised residents who reported the abuse and urged anyone with information to come forward. A video circulating online showed the boy’s scalded body and prompted community members to confront the couple accused of the attack. The state has vowed to prosecute anyone involved in this barbaric act.
