Troops Arrest Two Suspected Terrorists, Recover AK-47 and Ammunition in Zamfara
Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 1 Brigade have arrested two suspected terrorists during a night patrol in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The suspects, aged 25 and 23, were allegedly intercepted in the early hours of August 25. The Army said both men are from Ilela Village in Maradun LGA. Items recovered include an AK-47 rifle, a locally made Dane gun, two magazines, 55 rounds of ammunition, 18 cartridges, two radio sets, a motorcycle, a camouflage vest, jungle hats, a mobile phone and ₦44,500. The Army said materials found on one suspect’s phone are being examined for possible links to terrorist activities. It added that troops will sustain intelligence-led operations across vulnerable parts of Zamfara State.
