Mother and Child Killed as Two Container Trucks Overturn at Mile 2, Lagos

A mother and her child have died after two container trucks overturned near Freeman Market at Mile 2, inward Apapa, Lagos. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority said its rescue and recovery teams responded to the scene, evacuated the victims and cleared the wreckage. The affected section of the road was temporarily cordoned off, while motorists were diverted through a service lane. Authorities deployed a crane and tow vehicle to remove the trucks and their cargoes. Police officers provided security during the recovery operation, while the victims' remains were taken to the Yaba police mortuary.
