Monaco Bombing Suspect Killed Near Kyiv, Two Ukrainian Officers Arrested
Anastasiia Berezovska, 39, suspected of planting a bomb in a Monaco apartment block, was found shot dead near Kyiv on July 6. Local reports say she was killed by two law-and-order officials now in custody. One suspect serves in Ukraine’s defence intelligence service and the other is a police officer. Berezovska is accused of leaving an explosive device at oligarch Vadym Yermolaiev’s building entrance on June 29 before fleeing to Germany and then returning to Ukraine. Yermolaiev, his partner and their son were seriously injured in the blast. His partner lost both legs and remains in critical condition, while their 13-year-old son escaped with minor wounds. Investigators say Berezovska disguised herself as a man when she carried out the attack. Authorities are probing whether a dispute over a call centre business in Dnipro played a role in the bombing.
