Dozens Killed, Many Injured in Angwan Rukuba Jos Attack

Late on Saturday evening, gunmen on motorcycles opened fire at a busy junction in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North. Eyewitnesses report sporadic shots both into the air and at fleeing residents. The attack occurred around 7:00 p.m. near a popular private school. Panic spread as people ran for safety, and many were struck by gunfire. Captain Chinonso Polycarp, the state’s Media Information Officer, confirmed that scores have died and numerous others are receiving treatment in hospital. Security forces have been deployed and investigations are ongoing.
