DSS Witness Alleges $600,000 Plan to Stop EFCC Probe Linked to El-Rufai
A DSS digital forensics examiner, Segun Kayode, told a Kaduna State High Court that $600,000 was allegedly set aside to stop EFCC investigations into companies linked to former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai. Kayode said audio recordings and call data examined by his team allegedly showed that $500,000 was intended for EFCC officials, while $100,000 was meant for an intermediary. He said the recordings were obtained following an ICPC request and were subjected to forensic and voice analysis. The witness also alleged that discussions involved plans to liquidate a company identified as Singularity and prevent investigations into IHS. El-Rufai’s lawyer objected to the forensic report, saying the defence was not given adequate notice, but the court overruled the objection. El-Rufai is facing corruption and money-laundering charges filed by the ICPC. The case was adjourned to November 30 and December 1, 2026.
