NFF Appoints Dr Ayo Abdulrahaman as NPFL Chief Operating Officer
The Nigeria Football Federation has appointed Dr Ayo Abdulrahaman as the new Chief Operating Officer of the Nigeria Premier Football League. The appointment was announced on Friday, as the 2026/27 NPFL season opened with Shooting Stars facing newcomers Inter Lagos at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan. Abdulrahaman holds a doctorate in sports administration and has worked at several levels of Nigeria’s league system. The appointment takes immediate effect following an NFF directive requiring league board members, chief executives and non-staff chief operating officers to vacate their positions.
