NGO Urges Nigerian Churches to Make Worship More Inclusive for Persons With Disabilities
The Engraced Ones has urged churches to make worship spaces and programmes more accessible to children and adults with intellectual and neurodevelopmental disabilities. At the 2026 Inclusive Church Conference in Abuja, speakers called for practical support alongside spiritual care. They highlighted inclusive education, therapy, advocacy, trained children’s workers and teaching methods that enable everyone to participate. The conference also stressed early identification of developmental conditions, including autism, Down syndrome, dyslexia, ADHD and cerebral palsy. Parents and caregivers were encouraged to recognise and celebrate every child’s progress.
