Akwa Ibom Police Arrest Suspect While He Allegedly Tried to Collect ₦3m Ransom
The Akwa Ibom State Police Command says it has arrested a 29-year-old man, Otuekong Enoidem, over the alleged kidnapping and killing of a man identified as Koffi. Police said Koffi’s death was reported on 24 August 2026. Following intelligence-led operations, operatives allegedly arrested Enoidem at about 11:30 p.m. on 25 August while he was attempting to collect ₦3 million in ransom from the victim’s family. The command said it recovered the victim’s mobile phone, which was allegedly used to communicate ransom demands. Investigators say the phone may help identify other members of the suspected syndicate as the investigation continues.
