Midnight Raid: Bandits Kill Two Children, Abduct Three in Rafin Ciyawa, Bauchi
Bandits stormed Rafin Ciyawa village in Ningi LGA, Bauchi State around 12:30am on July 1, firing sporadically and throwing residents into panic. They shot and killed two children sleeping outside their Quranic teacher’s house and injured six others. The attackers then searched for two brothers believed to have cash, and abducted three relatives when they could not find them. Families say ransom talks have dropped from ₦100 million to ₦10 million. Community leaders are appealing to federal and state governments for a permanent security presence. The police confirm deployment of anti-kidnapping units, vigilantes and local hunters to rescue the victims and arrest suspects.
