Sowore Criticises Tinubu’s Absence at 2027 Peace Accord Signing
AAC presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has criticised President Bola Tinubu for not personally attending the signing of the National Peace Accord ahead of the 2027 general elections. Sowore, Peter Obi, Donald Duke and other presidential candidates attended the Abuja event on Tuesday, August 18. Tinubu was represented by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume. Speaking on Channels Television, Sowore said Tinubu’s absence weakened the significance of the accord. He argued that the President, as Commander-in-Chief, should personally demonstrate a commitment to preventing electoral violence and give the agreement greater moral weight.
