Influence Can Win Attention, but Credibility Builds Trust in Modern PR
I believe modern PR must protect credibility as fiercely as it pursues influence. Digital media gives organisations and creators the power to reach millions, but visibility, impressions and viral moments do not automatically earn public trust. As a PR practitioner, I look beyond follower counts when choosing creators or shaping campaigns. The message must fit the audience, claims must be verifiable, and an organisation’s actions must match what it says publicly. When customers, employees or other stakeholders raise valid concerns, a polished statement is not always the answer. Sometimes the real solution is to fix the underlying problem. Influence may make people notice a brand, but credibility gives them a reason to believe it.
