Why a Prophet Lacks Honor in His Hometown
In Matthew 13:53-58, Jesus returns to His hometown synagogue and amazes the people with His teaching and miracles. Despite witnessing His wisdom and power, they question His background—"Isn't this the carpenter’s son?" Their familiarity with His family breeds doubt. Jesus responds, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own town and in his own home.” Due to their lack of faith, He performs only a few miracles there.
