Benjamin Fredrick Set for Brentford Debut in Carabao Cup Tie With Reading
Super Eagles defender Benjamin Fredrick is expected to make his competitive debut for Brentford when they face Reading in the Carabao Cup. Fredrick joined Brentford from Simoiben Football Academy on loan in August 2023, before the club completed a permanent transfer in April 2024. He was previously named on Brentford’s senior bench for an FA Cup match against Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2024. Brentford manager Keith Andrews said Fredrick was rested from the B team’s match to ensure he was ready for the cup tie. The defender spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Belgian club Dender EH, but an injury suffered on international duty with Nigeria ended his campaign early and ruled him out of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
