Former West Brom Midfielder Quevin Castro Dies After Collapsing During Friendly Match
Former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Quevin Castro has died at the age of 25 after collapsing during a pre-season friendly in Portugal. Castro was playing for Real Sport Clube against Estrela da Amadora in Lisbon when he fell to the ground during the first half. The Lisbon Football Association later confirmed his death. West Brom said it was devastated by the news. The club plans to honour Castro with a minute of applause in the 25th minute of its match against Burnley, while players will wear black armbands. Castro joined West Brom in 2021 and made appearances against Arsenal and Swansea City before a loan spell at Burton Albion. He also played for several English clubs before returning to Portugal last summer.
