Nigerian Midfielder John Otomewo Poised for Record €1.6m Move to Stade Reims

John Otomewo is on the brink of joining French second-tier side Stade Reims after Hapoel Jerusalem agreed a €1.6 million sale. The fee would become Hapoel Jerusalem’s biggest outgoing transfer, surpassing the €1.5 million paid for Cedric Don. Otomewo is expected to complete his medical in France after arriving first in Israel later this week. Discovered at a talent tournament in Nigeria, the 19-year-old signed for Hapoel’s youth team last summer. He trained with the first team during an injury crisis and went on to make 19 league appearances.

A move for €1.6m would top Hapoel Jerusalem's outgoing records, but paying top price doesn't guarantee success on the pitch.

Labeling him 'poised' feels premature until we see how he handles the intensity of the French second tier.

If the deal goes through, Otomewo should focus on building chemistry with teammates before chasing individual stats.
