Hamza Idris Challenges ADC’s Osun Election Narrative on Trust TV

I watched Hamza Idris interview ADC spokesman Bolaji Abdullahi on Trust TV’s Daily Politics, and I was impressed by his method. He did not rely on shouting or theatrics. He listened closely, recalled earlier claims and used follow-up questions to test the logic behind them. Abdullahi presented Ademola Adeleke’s Osun victory as proof that President Bola Tinubu can be defeated in 2027. Hamza questioned how that argument aligns with ADC’s reported vote total of about 17,000 and Aregbesola’s polling-unit result. When Abdullahi cited opposition “cooperation,” Hamza pressed for clarity on whether ADC had actually directed supporters to vote for Accord. He also raised the apparent contradiction of ADC claiming Adeleke’s victory while Adeleke has publicly expressed support for Tinubu in 2027. On security, Hamza noted that APC lost despite earlier concerns that heavy federal deployment could favour the ruling party. For me, these were not partisan questions. They were basic journalistic follow-ups. Hamza allowed his guest to speak, but he kept testing the claims until the gaps and contradictions became clear.
