The Oyo State government has extended the 48-hour curfew in the 10 local government areas bordering the Old Oyo National Park by another 24 hours. The initial restriction, enforced daily from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., will now remain in effect until Saturday. The extension was announced on Thursday by the Secretary to the State Government in Ibadan. The affected LGAs are Oriire, Orelope, Irepo, Saki West, Saki East, Atisbo, Itesiwaju, Iseyin, Olorunsogo and Atiba. This measure is part of ongoing efforts to tackle kidnapping and other security challenges in communities around the park.
