Rita Dominic & Ramsey Nouah Bulk Up for ‘77: The FESTAC Conspiracy’ Premiere
Nollywood icons Rita Dominic and Ramsey Nouah recently attended the Lusaka premiere of 77: The FESTAC Conspiracy. The screening was part of this year’s Africa Creative Market, which champions African storytelling on the continental stage. The film is the sequel to 2016’s 76, which dramatized the real events surrounding General Murtala Mohammed’s assassination. Produced by Adonis Productions and Tonye Princewill, and directed by Izu Ojukwu, 77 delves into FESTAC ’77’s political and cultural setting. At the premiere, both actors revealed they gained weight to capture their characters authentically. Ramsey Nouah also shared that key scenes were filmed in Lebanon to recreate the period’s atmosphere. 77: The FESTAC Conspiracy is being billed as one of Nollywood’s major historical productions, underlining Nigeria’s political history and African cultural identity.
