AFC, Concacaf and UEFA are reportedly demanding that FIFA president Gianni Infantino step aside ahead of the March 2027 election. In an open letter, the three confederations accuse FIFA’s leadership of poor governance, inadequate consultation and an attempt to limit scrutiny over a proposal involving an interest in the FIFA World Cup. The letter says football leadership must be accountable to players, fans, clubs and member associations.
