Ebube’s Journey: Finding Hope After Sexual Assault
Ebubechukwu, a 26-year-old hospital worker, shares her story of surviving sexual assault by a trusted colleague. Trapped and terrified, she sought help at the WARIF Centre, where she received free medical care, forensic examinations, counselling, and legal support. Through individual and group therapy, Ebube learned that the assault was not her fault. She gained coping skills, rebuilt her self-worth, and connected with other survivors in a safe environment. With WARIF’s holistic approach and support from law enforcement, her attacker was arrested and brought to justice. Today, Ebube continues her healing journey with renewed strength and purpose. Her experience shows that with the right care and community, survivors can reclaim their lives and find hope again. If you or someone you know needs help, contact the WARIF Centre in Yaba or call the confidential helpline.
