Dear Ajayi Selected as Nigeria’s Entry for the 2027 Oscars
Nigeria has selected Dear Ajayi as its official entry for the Best International Feature Film category at the 99th Academy Awards. Directed, written and produced by Damilola Orimogunje, the period drama is set in southwestern Nigeria in the 1990s. It follows sisters Ade and Titi Ajayi as they confront unresolved tensions after their ailing mother moves in with them. The Nigerian Official Selection Committee announced the choice after reviewing eligible films. Dear Ajayi will now be considered by the Academy, but its selection as Nigeria’s entry does not guarantee an Oscar nomination.
