Katsina Governor Commissions 152 New Homes for IDPs in Jibia

Katsina Governor Commissions 152 New Homes for IDPs in Jibia

Governor Dikko Radda has inaugurated 152 housing units for internally displaced persons in Jibia LGA. The estate was built under the North-West Development Facility in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme and other development partners. Each family will receive a furnished home. They also get mattresses, blankets, cooking utensils, hygiene items and food supplies. Some households will receive cash grants to restart their lives. The project includes a climate enterprise centre, solar mini-grid, market stalls and a veterinary clinic. It also covers farm support for both dry and rainy seasons and grants for small-scale enterprises. Security in Jibia has improved significantly. No attacks or kidnappings have been recorded, farmers have returned to their fields, markets have reopened and children are back in school.
