FIFA Says No Decision Yet on Venue for 2030 World Cup Final
FIFA says it has not selected a venue for the 2030 World Cup final, despite claims that Morocco’s planned King Hassan II Stadium in Benslimane has secured the match. Morocco, Spain and Portugal will co-host the tournament. Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu and the proposed 115,000-capacity stadium near Casablanca are seen as leading contenders to stage the final. Moroccan football federation chief Fouzi Lekjaa said Benslimane would host the final, prompting debate in Spain. FIFA, however, said the decision will be taken at a later date and again rejected reports that the final had been promised to Morocco.
