Why Do Church Members Respond Less When I Lead Prayers?

I joined this church less than six months ago as an assistant pastor, but I have been discouraged by the response during my sessions. When I share prayer points or lead prayers, many members hardly respond or pray along. However, the same members respond enthusiastically when a senior assistant pastor leads a programme. I bring passion and spiritual energy to my duties, so the difference has been difficult for me to understand. I am in my early thirties and feel I should be taken seriously. I have even considered requesting a transfer. What could be causing this, and how should I handle it?
