Christ as Our Mordecai: An Allegory of Exaltation and Intercession
The Bible tells us that Mordecai the Jew was honored by King Ahasuerus and cared deeply for his people, seeking their wealth and speaking peace to them (Esther 10:3). In the same way, Jesus—though equal with God—became human, suffered, died, and rose again to intercede for us. After offering one perfect sacrifice for sins, He sat down at God’s right hand as our Great High Priest (Hebrews 10:12). Because Christ lives forever, His priesthood is unchangeable. He continually makes intercession for all who come to God through Him (Hebrews 7:25). Let us then hold fast our confession and boldly approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find help in times of need (Hebrews 4:14–16).
