Amaju Pinnick Rejects Calls to Apologise Over Stephen Keshi’s Treatment
Former Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick has rejected calls to apologise over the federation’s handling of late Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi. Speaking on Sunday Oliseh’s football programme, Pinnick said the NFF’s decisions during Keshi’s final years as coach were based on official reports, not personal disagreements. He maintained that he and Keshi had a cordial relationship until the coach’s death in 2016. Keshi remains a major figure in Nigerian football. He captained the Super Eagles and later led the team to win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations before guiding Nigeria to the 2014 World Cup.
