Bozoma Saint John and Keely Watson Celebrate Akan Wedding in Kente and Gold
Bozoma Saint John and Keely Watson held a colourful traditional Akan wedding in Accra, celebrating with close to 1,000 guests. The ceremony honoured the joining of two families through Ghanaian customs, including the presentation of a customary dowry. The couple wore hand-woven Kente and elaborate gold accessories for the main ceremony. Bozoma paired her drape with a Tikua headpiece, layered jewellery and a jewelled fan, while Keely wore a toga-style Kente look with matching gold adornments. Tiwa Savage, Efya, KiDi and Gyakie were among the guests. For their reception, Bozoma changed into a fitted Kente gown while Keely wore a cultural suit with Kente details. He also designed a multicoloured gemstone eternity band and matching pendant as part of the traditional presentation to her family. The pair plan to hold another wedding celebration in Los Angeles later this year.
