27 African Countries to Gain Easier Access to Canada in 2026 – Nigeria Left Out

Canada’s passport ranks seventh in the 2026 Henley Passport Index. The index, based on International Air Transport Association data, measures global travel freedom. Under the new rules, citizens of 27 African countries can enter Canada without a traditional visitor visa. They qualify for visa-free entry, visa on arrival or an Electronic Travel Authorisation. This change will speed up travel for business, tourism and families. Here are the 27 countries: • Angola – Visa-Free • Botswana – Visa-Free • Cape Verde – Visa on Arrival • Comoros – Visa on Arrival • Djibouti – Visa on Arrival • Egypt – Visa on Arrival • Eswatini – Visa-Free • Ethiopia – Visa on Arrival • Guinea-Bissau – Visa on Arrival • Kenya – eTA • Lesotho – Visa-Free • Madagascar – Visa on Arrival • Malawi – Visa on Arrival • Mauritius – Visa-Free • Morocco – Visa-Free • Mozambique – eTA • Namibia – Visa on Arrival • Rwanda – Visa-Free • São Tomé and Príncipe – Visa-Free • Senegal – Visa on Arrival • Seychelles – eTA • Sierra Leone – Visa on Arrival • South Africa – Visa-Free • Suriname – Visa-Free • Tunisia – Visa-Free • Zambia – Visa-Free • Zimbabwe – Visa on Arrival I’m disappointed that Nigeria didn’t make the list.
