Remo Stars were relegated from the Nigeria Premier Football League after a 1-1 draw with Bendel Insurance on the final day of the 2025/26 season. A stoppage-time equaliser dashed their survival hopes and confirmed their drop into the Nigeria National League. The Sky Blue Stars lifted their first NPFL title just a season ago but struggled with injuries, poor form and squad instability. Despite bringing in technical adviser Usman Abd’Allah midway through the campaign, Remo Stars couldn’t turn their fortunes around. This marks the third time the Ikenne-based club has dropped into the second tier. They join Bayelsa United, Shooting Stars and Stationery Stores as defending champions who were relegated the following season.
