Sowore Accuses Otti of Mediocre Leadership Despite ₦2trillion Allocations
Nigerian activist and politician Omoyele Sowore has intensified his criticism of Abia State Governor Alex Otti. He described the governor’s performance as “mediocre” despite a significant rise in federal allocations. In a social media video, Sowore said Otti’s efforts “would not be accepted of a councillor in Ghana.” He noted that Abia State has received over ₦2trillion from FAAC, a 200% increase, yet lacks visible transformative development. Sowore also accused the governor of delegating his public defence to influencers and media figures for “image laundering.” He argued that paying salaries and pensions is a statutory duty, not an achievement. As of filing this report, Governor Otti has not issued a direct response to these allegations.
