Certificates Open Doors, but Practical Skills Create Opportunities
Certificates are valuable, but they should be matched with practical skills that solve real problems. I have learned that hands-on experience matters. My work as a painter, POP installer, furniture designer, and interior and exterior finishing specialist has taught me the value of discipline, practice and learning from mistakes. Schools should give stronger attention to vocational and technical skills such as carpentry, plumbing, mechanics, electrical work, construction, fashion, engineering, artificial intelligence and financial literacy. We should prepare young people not only to pass examinations, but to create value, build sustainable livelihoods and solve everyday problems. Certificates can open doors, but practical skills help people create solutions.
