Flying Eagles Target Winning Start Against Ghana in WAFU B U-20 Opener
Flying Eagles coach Abdu Maikaba says Nigeria are targeting victory over Ghana in their opening match of the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship. The defending champions face the Black Satellites on Monday at the Lycée Scientifique de Yamoussoukro, with kick-off set for 3pm Nigerian time. Nigeria beat Ghana 2-1 in last year’s final in Lomé to win the title. Maikaba said the team must begin strongly as they pursue a third consecutive WAFU B U-20 crown. Nigeria will also face Togo on 30 July and Burkina Faso on 2 August in Group B, with the top teams aiming for the semi-finals.
