Enugu West PDP Leaders Reject Amadi’s Nomination, Demand Zoning Return for State Chair
Stakeholders from Enugu West Senatorial Zone have rejected Hon. Dennis Amadi’s emergence as the PDP senatorial candidate and called on the party’s National Working Committee to nullify his nomination. They insist no valid primary was held in the zone and say this departure undermines party democracy. The group also demands that the office of the Enugu State PDP Chairman be returned to Enugu West in line with the party’s zoning arrangement. They argue that continued occupation by Enugu North contradicts established principles of fairness and balanced representation. Meeting attendees condemned Dr. Nick Ozonsi’s suspension as unconstitutional and politically motivated. They endorsed three other primary winners—Hon. Arinze Onyianta, Hon. Ebube Nebo and Dr. Chidi Orjiudeche—and urged the party to protect their mandates and correct imbalances, including appointing a Board of Trustees slot for Enugu West. Finally, the stakeholders passed a vote of confidence in their zonal chairman and political leader, pledging loyalty to the PDP while urging urgent action to restore unity, strengthen internal democracy and prepare for the 2027 elections.
