Are Men Naturally Polygamous, or Is It an Excuse for Cheating?

People often say men are polygamous by nature when discussing relationships and marriage. Biology may help explain why people experience attraction, but it does not make cheating unavoidable. Attraction to someone outside a relationship can happen. Acting on it without a partner’s knowledge or consent is still a personal choice. Faithful men also experience temptation, yet choose honesty, respect and self-control. Should the “men are polygamous by nature” argument be seen as a genuine explanation for desire, or as an excuse to avoid accountability after breaking trust?
