Can ₦7 Million Really Get a Nigerian Student Into Medicine in Russia?

Before paying an agent who promises cheap medical admission in Russia with no JAMB and an automatic visa, families should understand the full process. A ₦7 million budget may cover a preparatory year, but it is not enough to treat as a guaranteed route into a medical classroom. Russian universities may not require JAMB or IELTS, but students who plan to practise in Nigeria must still meet MDCN requirements. This includes at least five relevant SSCE credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, obtained in no more than two sittings. A foreign degree may create problems at home if this foundation is missing. Most students begin with a Year 0 pre-med programme, not direct entry into Medicine. Typical costs include preparatory tuition, hostel fees, food, flights, insurance, medical screening, registration and winter clothing. Altogether, this can range from about $4,700 to $6,500 for the first year, depending on the city and exchange rate. Completing pre-med does not guarantee admission into the six-year Medicine programme. Students must pass internal Chemistry and Biology examinations, then sustain roughly $6,000 to $8,500 yearly for tuition and living costs. Before paying, verify the university’s recognition status, teaching language during clinical rotations and the requirements for MDCN verification and licensing. Would you investigate further, choose another country, request the full six-year cost breakdown, or rule out Russia entirely?
