Shettima: Leadership Demands Tough Choices—“If You Want to Be Nice, Go Sell Ice Cream”

Nigeria’s Vice President Kashim Shettima says true leadership often requires making hard decisions rather than being liked. Speaking at a Lagos State investment summit, Shettima defended the Tinubu administration’s economic policies. He praised Lagos as the gateway to West Africa, highlighting its role in providing capital, talent and opportunity. Shettima added that President Tinubu has “taken the bullet” for critical reforms because “the economy we deserve can’t be built on illusions.”
