Anambra Pre-Season Football Tournament Begins in Awka
The Anambra Football Association and the state Ministry of Sports have opened an eight-team pre-season tournament at Awka Township Stadium. Solution FC and Edel FC, both Nigeria National League sides, are the top seeds. They will compete with Olive Charles FC, Peace FC, Alleluia FC, Bona FC, Ozalla FC and UC Diamond FC. Sports Commissioner Patrick-Agha Mba said the competition will help players showcase their talents, support grassroots football development and prepare the NNL clubs for the new season. The three-day tournament is also expected to create opportunities for young footballers pursuing professional careers.
